D'Hondt Motorsports (DMS) has signed twenty year old Alli Owens to drive in the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series. Her ARCA sponsors National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) are also making the move and will sponsor the #19 Toyota Camry.

Bell heads to Virginia to participate in NASCAR Drive for Diversity |

Racing is all about timing, and for Mackena Bell, hers couldn't be better. The 18-year-old Carson High graduate dreams of someday competing in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, just when NASCAR is looking to broaden its appeal by adding minority and female drivers.
Those two goals will collide next week, when Bell will be one of 25 drivers participating in this year's NASCAR Drive for Diversity combine in South Boston, Va.

Shea Holbrook, 18, was named the inaugural recipient of the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Scholarship for the first phase of the Women in the Winner's Circle (WWC) Foundation Driver Development Academy.
“Cooper Tire's decision to support the Academy and Shea demonstrates not only their support of training and educating young women drivers, but also their belief that women can be successful in all areas of motorsports,” said Lyn St. James, former professional motorsports driver and founder of the Women in the Winner's Circle Foundation and Driver Development Academy. “By choosing to partner with this program, Cooper Tire is helping move motorsports forward as a gender integrated industry.”

Team DivaSpeed to Run 25 Hours of Thunderhill |

(Sonoma , CA) Fresh off another dominating victory in the E2 class, winning the 4 hour enduro at Infineon Raceway October 26, Team DivaSpeed owner Donna Gilio announced
today that the Team would be taking on the ultimate endurance racing challenge: The 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Now in its fifth year running, the 25 Hours is touted as the longest endurance race in North America,
and is held at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA on the weekend of December 5-6, 2008.
Teammates Donna Gilio and Karen Salvaggio, both endurance racing veterans, backed up their June victory at the 6 Hours of Buttonwillow, by taking top spot in their Acura Integra
in this weekend's race at the famed Infineon (Sears Point) Raceway in Sonoma, CA. Team DivaSpeed's entry in the 25 Hours represents the first all-woman racing team to take on the 25 hour challenge, and
teammates Donna Gilio, Karen Salvaggio, and Puerto Rico's own Glory Fernandez say they are up for the ultimate test of driving skill and endurance.

Amy Ruman and the Ruman Racing team are heading to Heartland Park Topeka, KS on Monday to compete in the famed SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Ruman and the team competed in last year's Runoffs held at Heartland Park, but Amy's race was cut short on the first lap when she was hit from behind by another car.
